Al Dur 1 IWPP

Our 2nd IWPP project in the Middle East

This project is a natural gas-fired power facility with a total output of 1,234 MW (equity ownership of 244 MW) and seawater desalination plant with a capacity of about 218,000 tons per day (equity ownership of about 43,000 tons) in the Al Dur area of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The electricity and water are supplied to Bahrain Electricity and Water Authority under a long-term agreement.

We acquired a 19.8% indirect equity interest in the project company that operates Al Dur 1 IWPP in August 2021, as the Kyuden Group’s 2nd IWPP project in the Middle East.
