Kyushu Electric has invested in and participated in the management of PetroGreen Energy Corporation, a renewable energy company in the Philippines in 2022. PetroGreen Energy Corporation, a subsidiary of the Yuchengco Group, which operates in finance, energy, and other sectors, focuses on operating and developing renewable energy projects, including geothermal, wind, and solar power generations in the Philippines. The company plans to actively expand its renewable energy business.
Kyushu Electric will utilize the technical expertise and knowledge gained by the Kyuden Group both locally and globally to position PetroGreen Energy Corporation as a platform for renewable energy development in the Philippines. This effort aims to support renewable energy growth in the Philippines and assist in achieving a low-carbon, decarbonized energy source.
